Sustainability

Sustainability? Always!

Love for nature runs deep, because all of those different animals, plants, colours and structures are so special! I keep being amazed by it all, and I'd like to keep it that way. This is why try my best to make sustainable choices, not only in my personal life, but in my work at Oh Bear Studio as well. Read on to see how I do this.

Work process and materials

Art materials aren't known for their environmentally friendly characteristics, unfortunately. That's why I use my materials wisely and efficiently, so that I don't have left over paint that I have to throw away, or paper that doesn't get used. I also try to take good care of my brushes and pencils, to make them last as long as possible.

Products

A part of the cards are printed on FSC-paper, which is better than non-FSC-paper. But I think it should be more sustainable! That's why all new cards are now printed on paper by Paperwise. This paper is made of agricultural waste that would've been burnt otherwise. I think this paper is beautiful because of it's natural colour and the little fibres that are visible!

Enveloppen zijn gemaakt van gerecycled papier, FSC-papier en sinds kort zijn de A6 enveloppen ook van duurzaam Paperwise papier.

I'd like to develop more products in the future, and consider their impact on the environment as well. Do you have any good ideas for me? Let me know!

Shipping

Half empty boxes, plastic filler and 10 layers of plastic tape... That's what we DON'T want when shipping an order. This is why I try to package your orders as minimalistic as I can, while still making it fun.

I use materials that I have from orders I got myself, recycled envelopes and paper tape. Of course, I want to make the orders fun to receive, so I try my best to make it fun while thinking of the environment as well.

Tips?

As is with everything: do you have good ideas for sustainable materials, products and packaging? Let me know! More sustainable, the better!
